Visa and Travel Support

Travel support

There is a limited budget for domestic travel support for students and young researchers who do not have their own funding.

Those who wish to apply for travel support are requested to provide the following information in the corresponding section of the registration form:

  • Name: 

  • Name in Chinese characters (if applicable): 

  • Nationality: 

  • Affiliation (university, graduate school, and department): 

  • Student year / Position: 

  • Date(s) of check-in/out (or one-day travel): 

  • Whether you have a registered bank account at Nagoya University: 

  • Place of residence (departure): 

  • Travel plan (dates, transportation, and travel route): 

  • If you plan to attend other events at KMI around the same period (e.g., KMI/NITEP School, GRGeo3, etc.), please indicate their names and dates.: 

 

The travel support for non-residents in Japan is subject to withholding tax.

Visa support

For participants who need visa application support, please provide the following information in the corresponding section of the registration form:

  • Name of the Embassy or Consulate of Japan to which you will submit your visa application (city): 

  • Date of birth and sex (as shown in your passport): 

  • Departure and arrival airports: 

  • Dates of departure and return: 

  • Occupation (position, e.g., Associate Professor): 

  • (Tentative) accommodation in Japan and period of stay: 

 

Please note that visa support is limited to participants whose academic background and purpose of visit are confirmed.  We may request you to submit a recommendation letter from your Ph.D. advisor.  The request may not be accepted in some cases.
