Description
In this talk, I will briefly review the current status of semileptonic $b \to s\ell\ell$ governed transitions, with particular emphasis on theoretical uncertainties. The main goal is to present two complementary strategies for discovering New Physics while simultaneously ruling out hadronic effects as a viable explanation of the $B$-anomalies. Belle II will play a major role in both approaches. The first strategy focuses on $b \to s\tau\tau$ transitions and their correlations with $b\to c \tau\nu$ and $b\to s \nu \bar{\nu}$ ones within SMEFT under various New Physics scenarios. The second strategy relies on a novel class of observables that exploit the different sensitivities of exclusive and inclusive decay modes to hadronic effects. Finally, I will briefly discuss some recent ideas and novel observables for non-leptonic $B$ decays.
